London Theatres to Close Down After Shows on Tuesday have concluded

As London prepares to move into Tier 3 on Wednesday, the theatre industry is preparing to close down all shows and theatres in London following Tuesday night’s shows.

London is being moved into Tier 3 following alarming rises in COVID-19 infections across the capital. Tier 3 Restrictions mean that pubs, bars, restaurants and theatres will have to close, although shops will remain open.

It is unlikely venues will re-open in 2020. Going forward no date for re-opening has been advised.

No announcement from SOLT has as yet been forthcoming but major producers and theatres are now posting the closure notices on Social Media.

This will deal a hard blow to theatres, producers and casts who have been working hard over past weeks to get shows back up and running with social distancing and safety measures in place. Last weekend Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Six, Death Drop and Potted Panto amongst others opened with A Christmas Carol opening tonight at the Dominion Theatre.

If you have purchased any tickets for any show please contact your ticket supplier and they will help you to arrange a refund.

In the meantime, we would like to thank everyone who has been working hard to get shows back up and running in an attempt to save our industry. The level of care to keep workers and our patrons safe has been incredible, and we truly appreciate everyone’s efforts.
