English Touring Theatre has announced the full cast for the UK tour of Richard Twyman’s critically acclaimed production of Othello.
Joining the previously announced Victor Oshin as Othello are Kitty Archer as Desdemona and Paul McEwan as Iago. Other additions to the cast are Philip Correia as Cassio, Naby Dakhli as Montano, James Ellis as the Duke, James Godden as Soldier/Senator and Kelly Price as Emilia.
They join returning cast members Chris Bianchi as Brabantio, Hayat Kamille as Bianca, Brian Lonsdale as Roderigo and John Sandeman as Lodovico.
The touring production is presented by English Touring Theatre with Oxford Playhouse and Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory in Bristol where Richard Twyman’s production originally ran from February to April last year.
The UK tour starts at Oxford Playhouse on 18 September and runs until 24 November, visiting Harrogate Theatre, Cast in Doncaster, Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield, Everyman Theatre Cheltenham, Oldham Coliseum Theatre, The New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich, Warwick Arts Centre, Northern Stage in Newcastle upon Tyne and Lighthouse Poole.
ETT will continue its commitment to make touring theatre accessible to young people with their 25th-anniversary ticket scheme offering £2.50 tickets to Othello for young people aged 25 and under.
ETT will also run The Othello Project where journalist and activist Abdul-Rehman Malik will curate a multi-art festival in response to the production at each venue, giving a platform to some of the most exciting Muslim artists and writers working in the UK today. Further details will be announced.
