Pinter At The Pinter – a unique season featuring all twenty short plays written by Harold Pinter, the greatest British playwright of the 20th Century has been announced for the Harolder Pinter Theatre from September 2018. Pinter at the Pinter is to be presented by The Jamie Lloyd Company, Ambassador Theatre Group, Benjamin Lowy Productions, Gavin Kalin Productions and Glass Half Full Productions. The entire season will presented at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Pinter at the Pinter will be directed by Jamie Lloyd, Patrick Marber, Lyndsey Turner, Ed Stambollouian and Lia Williams. The season celebrates the tenth anniversary of the Nobel Prize winner’s death. The twenty plays will be presented in repertoire by a company of world-class creatives, many of whom were Harold Pinter’s friends and collaborators. Andrew Lippa’s musical The Little Princess is to have its UK Premiere at the Royal Festival Hall starring Amanda Abbington and Danny Mac and we have the first photo by Michael Warley. A Little Princess, with book and lyrics by by Brian Crawley (Violet), is based upon Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic childhood novel. It tells the story of Sara Crewe, as she is sent from her home in Africa to boarding school in London and separated from her father. As young Sara’s world is turned upside down, she must rely on her friends and imaginative powers to overcome her strict headmistress Miss Minchin and prove that every little girl deserves to be a princess. A Little Princess will recieve its UK premiere at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on 28 May 2018 at 7.30pm. Sierra Boggess withdraws from playing Maria in the BBC Proms concert version of West Side Story. Sierra Boggess has announced her withdrawal from the BBC Proms concert version of West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein. Sierra was due to have played Maria in the one-off concert event at the Royal Albert Hall this summer. The evening is to feature Ross Lekites as Tony and be conducted by John Wilson leading the John Wilson Orchestra, together with students from the Mountview Academy and Arts Ed Theatre School.
