The London cast of the award-winning musical Kinky Boots today celebrated its 1000th performance in the Adelphi Theatre and has now also received its 1,000,000th audience member in the West End. A firm favourite with West End audiences Kinky Boots is the recipient of every major Best Musical Award having won the Olivier Award and Tony Award amongst others. Inspired by true events, Kinky Boots tells the story of Charlie Price, who is struggling to save his family shoe factory. Lin-Manuel Miranda makes small lyric tweaks to Hamilton London

In the run-up to the London opening of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s award-winning musical Hamilton, some cynics wondered if the musical based on early American history would translate for British audiences. Based on the critical and public reception which greeted the show, those fears were unfounded. Hamilton is a resounding critical success and has been greeted with the type of audience reaction most shows can only dream of. In recent days on Twitter, Lin-Manuel revealed that three small lyric tweaks have been made to the libretto of Hamilton in London. The first tweak is in the song “Take a Break“.  In the original libretto Hamilton’s line “Angelica, tell me wife John Adams doesn’t have a real job anyway” has been changed to “Angelica, tell me wife, Vice President isn’t a real job anyway” making the line about the job title and not John Adams himself. “The Room Where It Happens” sung by … Read more

Hamilton celebrates London opening with Ham4Ham Brit Pop Tribute

To celebrate the London opening of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton the musical, this great video featuring Lin-Manuel, Alex Lacamoire, the orchestra and cast of Hamilton created this great Brit Pop mash up. In true Aaron Sorkin ‘West-Wing’ style, this amazing sing and walk takes you from the orchestra pit of the show, backstage and then onto David Korins’ magnificant set on the stage of the newly renovated Victoria Palace Theatre. Ham4Ham started as a way to entertain the Hamilton fans waiting for tickets outside the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The shows soon became an institution with the great and good of Broadway taking part.
