Julian Slade and Dorothy Reynolds’ classic British musical Salad Days will be presented at London’s Union Theatre from 16 August to 9 September 2017, sixty three years after its first London production. The cast of Salad Days will be led by Lowri Hamer as Jane and Laurie Denman as Tim. Both are making their professional debut having recently graduated from Guildford School of Acting. We are pleased to bring you these great first look production photos by Scott Rylander of Tim Rice’s Blondel at London’s Union Theatre. Following the trials and triumphs of an ambitious minstrel in King Richard the Lionheart’s court, Blondel will get its London premiere at the Union Theatre from Wednesday 21 June – Saturday 15 July 2017. Blondel has lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Stephen Oliver. The book is by Tom Williams and Tim Rice, with additional music by Mathew Pritchard. The Union Theatre’s upcoming production of Tim Rice’s musical comedy Blondel have unveiled their new Blondel – Connor Arnold. Blondel tells the story of the trials and triumphs of Blondel, an ambitious minstrel in the court of King Richard the Lionheart. Can Blondel save his King who has been captured by the cunning Duke of Austria, avoid a rather annoying assassin and write a love song to win the heart of potential sweetheart Fiona? A graduate of the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in 2016, Connor Arnold recently The Pardoner on a European tour of Canterbury Tales. His previous credits include Silent Witness (BBC1) and Catch Me at the Arts Theatre. Musical theatre fans spread the word throughout the kingdom that a brand new version of the musical comedy by Tim Rice and Stephen Oliver is to be staged at the Union Theatre from 21 June – 15 July 2017. Heralds have been trumpeting the news this afternoon that the musical has been re-worked with book is by Tim Rice and Tom Williams, and additional music by Mathew Pritchard. Blondel is the tale of an ambitious minstrel in the court of King Richard the Lionheart and follows his trials and tribulations as he seeks to save his King and write the perfect love song to dedicate to his beloved Fiona.
