Disney’s Aladdin to undertake a Genie swap this Summer!

Disney’s Aladdin has announced that the London production will welcome new Genie Michael James Scott for six weeks this summer whilst Trevor Dion Nicholas travels Stateside to play the Genie in his hometown of Pittsburgh. Trevor Dion Nicholas who has played the Genie since Disney’s Aladdin opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in London is to play the Genie is his hometown of Pittsburgh when the US tour visits there this Summer. In his place Michael James Scott, who is currently playing the Genie on the UK tour will play the Genie in London between 17 August – 30 September 2018. Aladdin London – Full Casting Announced

Jade Ewen and Dean John Wilson will star in Disney's Aladdin in London.

Disney Theatrical Productions have announced that Dean John-Wilson will play the role of Aladdin in the West End premiere of Disney’s latest musical hit. Dean will be joined by Jade Ewen as Jasmine, Don Gallagher as Jafar, Peter Howe as Iago, Irvine Iqbal as the Sultan, Nathan Amzi as Babkak, Stephen Rahman-Hughes as Kassim and Rachid Sabitri as Omar. As previously announced, Broadway cast member Trevor Dion Nicholas will make his London stage debut as Genie. Disney Theatrical has announced that the Tony Award-winning stage musical Aladdin whill begin previews at London’s Prince Edward Theatre from 27 May 2016 with it’s opening night scheduled for Thursday 9 June 2016. Broadway cast member Trevor Dion Nicholas will make his london stage debut as Genie with further casting to be announced. “In 1992, Howard Ashman, Alan Menken and Tim Rice’s reimagining of the Aladdin tale became the biggest movie of the year around the globe.
