After nearly 1,500 performances, Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is nearing its end in London. Mark Ludmon looks back over its five-year run. Nearly five years – or 1,743 days – after Christopher Boone first set out to investigate The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time at the National Theatre, the show continues to earn standing ovations at its current home of the Gielgud. Audiences are wowed by Bunny Christie’s design, Finn Ross’s video effects, Steven Hoggett and Scott Graham’s movement direction, Simon Stephens’s writing, Mark Haddon’s story and, of course, the talent and physical prowess required to play the lead role of Christopher. After nearly 1,500 performances, the show will end its run in London on June 3. The award-winning production of The Curious Incident Of the Dog In The Night-Time at London’s Gielgud Theatre has welcomed a new cast this week. The new West End is led by Sion Daniel Young as Christopher Boone. He is joined by Rebecca Lacey as Siobhan, Nicolas Tennant as Ed, Mary Stockley as Judy, Jacqueline Clarke as Mrs Alexander, Indra Ové as Mrs Shears, Stephen Beckett as Roger Shears, Matthew Trevannion as Mr Thompson, Pearl Mackie as No. 40/Punk Girl, Sean McKenzie as Reverend Peters and Kaffe Keating plays alternate Christopher. They are joined by Mark Rawlings, Penelope McGhie, Naomi Said and Simon Victor. The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time continues it’s successful run world-wide winning five Tony Awards including the Tony Award for Best Play. A new cast has been announced for the award-winning play The Curious Incident Of the Dog In the Night Time which is being produced by the National Theatre at the Gielgud Theatre. The new cast will begin performances on 22nd June 2015 and comprises Sion Daniel Young as Christopher, Rebecca Lacey as Siobhan with Nicholas Tennant continuing as Ed, Mary Stockley as Judy, Jacqueline Clarke as Mrs Alexander, Indra Ove as Mrs Shears, Stephen Beckett as Roger Shears, Matthew Trevannion as Mr Thompson, Pearl Mackie as No. 40/Punk Girl, Sean Mckenzie as Reverend Peters and Kaffe Keating will play alternate Christopher.
