Sonia Friedman Productions and Neal Street Productions have announced new casting Jez Butterworth’s The Ferryman currently playing at the Gielgud Theatre. Directed by Sam Mendes, The Ferryman opened at the Royal Court to critical acclaim becoming the fastest selling show in the theatre’s history.  The show has continued its success since transferring to the Gielgud Theatre where it is now booking until January 2018. David Oakes and Natalie Dormer to star in Venus In Fur

David Ives’ hit Broadway play Venus in Fur is to receive its West End premiere this autumn starring David Oakes and Natalie Dormer. For a strictly limited nine-week engagement, TRH Productions will present the two-hander at Theatre Royal Haymarket from October 6 to December 9, 2017. Venus In Fur tickets are on sale now. Natalie Dormer plays enigmatic actress Vanda Jordan who appears unannounced for an audition with director Thomas Novachek (David Oakes). She is determined to land the leading role in his new production despite seeming wrong for the part. Over one evening in downtown Manhattan their charged meeting becomes a seductive dance to the end. It will be directed by playwright Patrick Marber and designed by Rob Howell with lighting by Hugh Vanstone and casting by executive producer Ilene Starger. Simon Lipkin To Play The Lorax At Old Vic

It has been announced that Simon Lipkin (Avenue Q, Assassins, I Can’t Sing, Rock Of Ages) will play the title role in David Greig’s adaptation of Dr Seuss’s The Lorax. Simon will perform alongside puppeteers Laura Cubitt and Ben Thompson, with Simon Paisley Day playing the role of the Once-ler. Inspired by Dr. Suess’s classic tale, Dr Suess’s The Lorax tells of a moutachioed and cantankerous critter who’s on a mission to protect the earth from the greedy, tree-chopping, Thneed-knitting businessman known only as the Once-ler. Dr Suess’s The Lorax is the third production in Matthew Warchus’ debut season as Artistic Director of the Old Vic.
