Chicago is back in the West End at the Phoenix Theatre starring Cuba Gooding Jr, Sarah Soetaert, Josefina Gabrielle, Ruthie Henshall and Paul Rider. After a knockout show and standing ovation, the cast and other celebrities partied at L’Escargot. Chicago originally ran in London for 15 years, making it the West End’s longest running revival. The show continues to run on Broadway where it is the longest running American musical. Chicago has won six Tony Awards, two Olivier awards and a Grammy. It’s great to see Chicago back in the West End. It’s certainly a show that enjoy revisiting every now and again and I’m sure that this revival will be a crowd pleaser.

Following a five and a half year absence, Chicago the musical returns to London’s West End as the show celebrates its 21st Anniversary. Now the longest-running American musical in history, Chicago will open at the Phoenix Theatre from 26 March 2018. Chicago originally opened at the Adelphi Theatre in 1997 to rave reviews, winning the 1998 Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Musical Production. It transferred to the Cambridge Theatre in April 2006, then transferred to the Garrick Theatre until September 2012. It’s fifteen year run made Chicago the West End’s longest-running revival.
