Premiering on Broadway in 1998, it won the Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Original Score and won six Drama Desk Awards. Based on the trial in 1913 of a Jewish factory manager accused of raping and murdering a thirteen-year-old employee, the project was brought to Jason Robert Brown by Harold Prince. Exciting times in Manchester tonight, as award-winning musical Parade opens at The Hope Mill Theatre, co-produced by Aria Entertainment, Hope Mill Theatre and James Barker Production. Manchester’s newest arts venue will be a platform to showcase and revive musical theatre – with Parade being the first production to be presented as part of the new partnership. The cast is led by Tom Lloyd as Leo Frank and Laura Harrison as Lucille Frank, together with Jennifer Harraghy, Nathan Summers, Ben Jackson, Matt Mills, Shekinah McFarlane, Andrew Gallo, James Wolstenholme, Aidan Banyard; John Mulleady, Megan Ormiston, Evie Blackstock, Anna Berentzen and Natalie Hollingworth.
