Nadim Naaman and Bill Champion to lead cast of By Jeeves at Old Laundry Theatre
The Old Laundry Theatre have announced that their upcoming revival of Alan Ayckbourn and Andrew LLoyd Webber’s musica By Jeeves will star Bill Champion and Nadim Naaman. This will be Alan Ayckbourn’s first revival in over 20 years of this jocular musical – from Broadway to Bowness! Nadim Naamanwho will play Bertie Wooster is currently playing Raoul in the 30th anniversary cast of Lloyd Webber’s ThePhantom Of The Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre. Other theatre credits include Anthony in Sweeney Todd at Harrington’s Pie and Mash Shop on Shaftesbury Avenue and Titanic in Toronto and Southwark Playhouse. Long-time Ayckbourn collaborator actor Bill Cgampion is to play the faitful, long-suffering man servant Jeeves. REVIEW: The Hired Man In Concert, Cadogan Hall ✭✭✭✭✭
Cadogan Hall brought a lavish concert performance of the piece to its stage, and – once again – we saw and heard just why we should value this work amongst the highest achievements in the musical theatre. It is simply breath-taking. Indeed, freed of decor and costume, lighting and choreography, and of all the pageantry of the theatre, when exposed to the forensic inspection of the concert platform its virtues come across even more strongly.
FIRST LOOK: The World Goes Round in Scarborough
Kander and Ebb’s The World Goes Round is now playing at The Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough. Featuring songs from Kander and Ebb musicals including Chicago, Cabaret, The Rink amongst others, The World Goes Round is a wonderful review that stars Phoebe Fildes, Laura Jane Matthewson, Nigel Richards, Ashley Samuels and Shona White. The World Goes Round is directed by Lotte Wakeham, designed by Simon Kenny, lighting design by Jason Taylor and musical direction by Neil McDonald.
