Andrew Lloyd Webber has announced the purrfect tribute to Dame Gillian Lynne with the re-naming of the New London Theatre. This will be the first time that a West End Theatre has been named after a woman. The announcement was made by Andrew Lloyd Webber at a special event at the New London Theatre last night. “I am delighted to be able to announce that the New London Theatre is to be renamed as the Gillian Lynne Theatre,” he said. “Gillian has been a pioneer of British musical theatre and dance. Gillie’s groundbreaking work on Cats inspired and launched countless careers in dance. Mel C Joins School Of Rock Cast For Surprise Performance

Following last night’s performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School Of Rock at the New London Theatre, Mel C joined the cast on stage and surprised the audience with a performance of the Spice Girls hit Wannabe. The audience who had given the show a standing ovation stayed on their feet for this special performance which brought the house down. Based on the iconic film starring Jack Black, School Of Rock has just announced it’s third booking extension with tickets now available until 14 January 2018.  The Broadway production of School Of Rock is now in its second year and continues to play to full Houses at the Wintergarden Theatre. Despite superb notices from the critics Daniel Evan’s production of Show Boat will now close on 27 August 2016. Show Boat transferred from the Sheffield Crucible where it received rave reviews and was scheduled to run until January 2017 at the New London Theatre.
