Originally produced by Cameron Mackintosh. Moby Dick the musical is coming back to the Union Theatre in a few short days. With a book by Robert Longden and music and lyrics by Robert Longden and Hereward Kaye, Moby Dick is directed and choreographed by double Olivier Award nominee Andrew Wright. The cast of Moby Dick is led by Anton Stephans (Porgy and Bess, Smokey Joe’s Cafe) and Brenda Edwards (Hairspray, We Will Rock You). WEST END – The Dresser – Duke Of York’s Ronald Harwood’s The Dresser comes to the West End in a revival starring Ken Stott and Reece Shearsmith at London’s Duke Of York’s Theatre. First seen in 1980 in the West End and on Broadway, this much-loved play tells the heart-breaking story of an ageing actor-manager and his long-suffering dresser as they struggle to keep the show on the road against the backdrop of a down-at-heel regional theatre in wartime. Moby Dick the musical is back. The saucy cult hit musical which has not been seen in the UK since 1992, will return to the New Union Theatre from 12 October – 12 November 2016. The musical which was originally produced by Cameron Mackintosh has a book by Robert Longden and music and lyrics by Longden and Hereward Kaye. The anarchic and nubile girls of St. Godley’s Academy for Young Ladies are in trouble! Money for the school has run out and it’s threatened with closure. Determined to save their school from bankruptcy, the resourceful girls, and their unflappable headmistress come up with a plan to keep the school afloat. Using whatever they can find, the girls mount an original production as a fundraiser – a musical version of Herman Melville’s classic novel Moby Dick, featuring their own headmistress in the coveted role of Captain Ahab.
