The Young Vic has announced casting for its production of the award-winning musical Fun Home at the Young Vic. The Young Vic have announced preliminary casting for its upcoming production of the award-winning musical Fun Home which will play at the Young Vic from 18 June to 1 September 2018. The adult cast for the production includes Kaisa Hammarlund as Alison; Eleanor Kane as Medium Alison; Jenna Russell as Helen; Ashley Samuels as Roy, Mark and Jeremy; Cherrelle Skeete as Joan and Zubin Varla as Bruce, Alison’s father. Casting for Small Alison, John and Christian will be announced at a later date. Cadogan Hall brought a lavish concert performance of the piece to its stage, and – once again – we saw and heard just why we should value this work amongst the highest achievements in the musical theatre. It is simply breath-taking. Indeed, freed of decor and costume, lighting and choreography, and of all the pageantry of the theatre, when exposed to the forensic inspection of the concert platform its virtues come across even more strongly.

BritishTheatre.com is pleased to bring you this first look at Sheila Hancock and Jenna Russell in Grey Gardens at Southwark Playhouse. With music by Scott Frankel, book by Doug Wright and lyrics by Michael Korie, Grey Gardens was the first Broadway musical to be based on a documentary. The show tells the story of Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale and Edith Bouvier Beale who were Jacqueline Kennedy’s aunt and cousin. Directed by Tom Sutherland, Grey Gardens stars Sheila Hancock and Jenna Russell with Billy Boyle, Aaron Sidwell, Jeremy Legat, Ako Mitchell and Rachel Anne Rayham.
