In January 2017, the first production of the Burt Bacharach / Hal David / Neil Simon Broadway musical Promises, Promises, the Tony-nominated and Grammy award-winning will be presented at Southwark Playhouse. Based on Billy Wilder’s film The Apartment, Promises, Promises tells the story of Chuck Baxter, a junior executive at a New York insurance company, where his mid-town residence makes him popular with the executives bosses – who promise him a promotion in order to “entertain” at his apartment.
