Laura Osnes to appear in Frank Wildhorn in Friends at Palace Theatre Manchester

Broadway leading lady Laura Osnes will join Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn will make their UK concert debuts in a one night only evening celebrating Frank’s music entitled An Evening with Frank Wildhorn and Friends on Tuesday 22 November 2016 at The Palace Theatre, Manchester. Tickets are on sale now. Frank Wildhorn has been a composer of musical theatre including Dracula, Jekyll & Hyde, Bonnie & Hyde and The Scarlett Pimpernell, and pop songs including Whitney Houston’s Where Do Broken Hearts Go? Frank’s musical Wonderland, a modern take on Alice In Wonderland, will tour the UK in 2017. Please be aware that the remaining dates on the Wonderland UK Tour have been cancelled. Following sold out international seasons in Tampa, Texas and Tokyo, the multi Grammy, Tony and Drama Desk Award nominated Frank Wildhorn’s Wonderland will receive its UK and European première in this brand new British production. Wonderland will open at the prestigious Edinburgh Playhouse from 20th to 28th January 2017 ahead of a UK tour, the first half of which takes in Sunderland, Birmingham, Southend, Oxford, Grimsby, York, Bromley, Derry, Belfast, Woking, Blackpool, Southampton and Manchester, with the second half of the tour due to be announced in Spring. Bricusse’s output is so prodigious and so tuneful that only the tone deaf would not find lots of numbers here satisfying and delicious. Many will find something to enjoy in every song, and certainly Musical Director, Michael England, does a terrific job accompanying the singers with a six piece band (including England on piano) that does real justice to England’s arrangements. As ever, there could have been more strings to swell the underscoring, but that is a small quibble.
