The cast and production team have been working tirelessly to bring Kinky Boots the musical to London and we’ve found this great preview clip from The Hollywood News which has us counting down the days. Based on the British film of the same name, Kinky Boots is the story of a traditional family business in financial difficulty which turns to a new market to change their fortunes. It’s an incredible story that proves that you can change the world when you change your mind. Written by Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein and Directed and Choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots is the winner of six Tony awards including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Choreography. Kinky Boots Is London Bound

TICKETS ON SALE THROUGH BRITISHTHEATRE.COM ON MARCH 2, 2015 The Daily Mail confirmed today that the multi-award winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots is headed to London’s Adelphi Theatre this summer. Casting for the show is already underway with rehearsals due to begin in July, with a first preview scheduled for 21 August 2015. The search is now on for an entirely British cast. Director Jerry Mitchell told the mail “It’s got to be British actors, because one of the things we always took a beating on in New York was the accents.” Kinky Boots is based on the British film of the same name which starred Chiwetel Ejiofor. Billy Porter is wonderful as the cross-dressing Lola, funny and fragile, but one vaguely wonders whether his voice will last the distance. The performance of the evening comes from Annaleigh Ashford who is perfect in every way as the feisty local gal who gets the Boss.
