Something Rotten – St James Theatre

Something Rotten on Broadway, St James Theatre

Something Rotten is a new musical which tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom, two brothers who are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rockstar William Shakespeare, otherwise known as The Bard. When a local soothsayer fortells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out the write the world’s very first MUSICAL!

The show’s Act One showstopper It’s A Musical opened the 2015 Tony Awards and frequently stops the show with a standing ovation in the middle of the first act.

Something Rotten stars 2015 Tony Award Winner Christian Borle as Shakespeare, Brian D’Arcy James as Nigel Bottom, John Cariani as Nigel Bottom, Heidi Blickenstaff as Bea and Brad Oscar as Nostradamus. The show is directed by Casey Nicholaw who directed Disney’s Aladdin and co-directed The Book Of Mormon. It has songs by Wayne and Kasey Kirkpatrick and a book by John O’Farrell.
