WHAT IS GYPSY ABOUT?

Gypsy is a musical that is loosely based of the life of famous Striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee based on her 1957 memoirs.

The musical follows Momma Rose and her daughters June and Louise. Rose is the ultimate stage mother ruthlessly driving June towards stardom by whatever means possible. When her daughter flees she transfers her own dreams of stardom onto her other daughter Louise who goes on to become Gypsy Rose Lee but not before mother and daughter become estranged.
