Profile Information

What I do... (Actor, director, designer, teacher etc?)
Writer, Producer
My Quick CV
I began my career writing plays with large casts for small people (children) and now have a residencey with Stagecraft Theatre Ireland one of Irelands biggest youth theatres. Currently I work in London as a writer, facilitating group writing and working on my own projects. I co founded Fragments Theatre Company and am their resident writer, researcher and producer on various projects. Upcoming projects; No Dogs premieres in 2010 & Mothers of Modern Ireland, documentary for exhibition in 2011.
The first thing that inspired me in theatre...
Beautiful voices. I am short sighted and while I have glasses now I spent my childhood half blind. So the visual effects of theatre were lost on me but I very much appreciated the wonderful voices of both singers and actors shooting words to the back of the auditorium, in velvet, in bells and in harmony...
My favourite theatre something is...
The work of the ensemble. It's amazing to see people working together.
The thing that annoys me about our industry...
Nepotism over talent and big name low ability syndrome

Suggestions more than welcome!!

The Empty Space...

Yes it is no accident that the title of this rant is the above. In this company (Fragments) there can never be enough homage paid to the great Peter and we are enormous fans of the sufficiency of the human body and the collective. However, this title is not referring to a physical and theatrical empty space. Rather 'the empty space' refers to a glorious hole in my research that baffles me a little. Granted I haven't pulled out all the stops yet but one wouldn't have expected such information to… Continue
