David Hunt trained as an actor for three years at the Webber-Douglas Academy Of Dramatic Art. Acting theatre credits include: Petruchio in The Taming Of The Shrew (National Tour), Richard in The Lion In Winter (National Tour), Torvald in A Dolls House (Norwich Theatre Royal), Adolphus in Major Barbara, Iago in Othello (National Tour),John Gilbert in The Browning Version (Bristol Hippodrome), Peter in The Zoo Story (Tristan Bates Theatre), Jean in Miss Julie (Artaud Company/Cafe Theatre), Capulet in Romeo and Juliet & Stephano in The Merchant of Venice, (Cliveden Fest), Claudio in Measure for Measure (Finborough Arms/ Greenbelt & Edinburgh Festival/ National Tour), Horatio & Hamlet in Hamlet (National Tour), Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing (National Tour), Greg in Marching to Another Tune (Croydon Warehouse), Gabriel Oak in Far From The Madding Crowd (National Tour), Felix in The Normal Heart (Croydon Warehouse/Edinburgh Festival), Hamlet in Hamlet’s Ghost, Laurent in Therese Raquin (Old Red Lion, London) Bertie in Bertie’s Christmas Adventure (TIE Tour & Fortune Theatre, London) and Oswald in Ghosts, Andre in The Three Sisters (National Tour). He appeared as Aslan in two of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Horse and His Boy (Lyric, Hammersmith/National Tour) and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (also at London’s Royalty Theatre). He has featured in the films: Salesman, A Warning to the Curious, The Dolls and The Pretence of Sleep as Oscar Wilde. The latter production he also scripted. TV appearances include: The Bill, The Word, Crimewatch UK and Casualty and The Actors Life for BBC Radio. Directing credits include: Something Wicked This Way Comes (Greenwich Playhouse), Electra (Courtyard), Coward's Way, The Passion of Henrik Ibsen, That Happy Feeling! (also writer), Mind Games and The Tragedy of Federico Garcia Lorca (Broadway Studio), West End Gold (Gaiety Theatre, IOM), Beyond Therapy (Swansea Grand Theatre), Yerma, Much Ado About Nothing and Present Laughter (Dramascope Studio’s), Bach to Basics (Taplow Court Festival), Boy Makes Good (Market Harborough Theatre), Blood Wedding (Barn Theatre), When You Wish (Windsor), The Tempest, Blithe Spirit, Pre-Paradise,Sorry Now, (Norwich Theatre), As You Like It, Hedda Gabler, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Taming of the Shrew and over 90 showcase performances on the PTTAEC (RBC). He has also directed fundraising cabarets for Great Ormond Street Hospital, Crusaid and West End Cares. He regularly works as a voice-over artiste.
