Marching On Together Launches Kickstarter Campaign

Marching On Together by Adam Hughes has its premier at the Old Red Lion in March 2015

Here at Britishtheatre.com we are ardent supporters of new writers and we’re proud to support playwright Adam Hughes and his new play Marching On Together which has its premiere in February 2015.

To help raise funds for the production a Kickstarter campaign has been launched.

“It’s Leeds, it’s the height of the football season in 1984, and it’s carnage. West Yorkshire miners are on strike and football hooliganism is rife, with bitter battles being fought on both the picket line and the touchline. Macca, ex-leader of the notorious Service Crew, is released from prison into a divided Leeds that he hardly recognises. With Macca’s infamous crew now disbanded, a younger generation of hooligans have taken up his violent mantle defending the mighty Whites, leaving the former general on the side-lines without an army. Abandoned by the only group who respected and supported him, Macca is no longer just fighting for Leeds. He’s fighting for his own survival.”

The Producers say:- “Marching on Together will receive its world premiere at the Old Red Lion Theatre, Islington, in February 2015. After the play’s explosive debut, it will head on tour to West Yorkshire in March visiting schools, community centres, Working Men’s Clubs, and even bespoke non-theatrical locations that feature in the play. This is a project about community that will spark conversations about our shared history, allowing us to look back into our past and ask how far have we really come in 30 years. YOU can be part of that debate, be it in London, Leeds, or from anywhere in the world! If you’d like to get involved, we’d be ever so grateful for your support in securing the final part of our budget.”

We hope that you will choose to get involved in this exciting new play by an up and coming new playwright. Visit Adam’s website or make a pledge through the Marching On Together Kickstarter page.
