NEXT LAZARUS PRODUCTION;

Welcome to Lazarus Theatre Company, a company truly committed to producing the best in Classic Theatre for a Contemporary London Fringe audience.

Inspired by a broad and diverse range of material we hope that our work informs, inspires and provokes our audiences, offering a fresh and bold re-imagination of some of the greatest works ever written. Through the use of text, song, music and movement we hope to offer an exciting theatrical experience; our work involves ensemble storytelling with intimacy and detail at its heart.

Season 2010 will include Elizabethan, Jacobean and Greek Drama, our work with movement and music will be expanded as will our reach to our audience with longer engagements and more productions. The creative team looks set to expand with an associate company being established over the course of the Season.

In this our forth year we look to keep building our links with theatres, practitioners and artists as well as the most important aspect of our work, our audience.

SEASON 2010 A Season not to be missed.

Coming Next;
OTHELLO
Shakespeare’s classic story of Love, Betrayal and Jealousy comes to the London Fringe in this new production presented by Lazarus Theatre Company. Othello, general to the Duke of Venice is commissioned to drive the invading Turkish fleet from Cyprus, his embodied Love and passion for wife Desdemona is driven to ultimate destruction during the war for Freedom, Survival and Pride.

This sweeping and dramatic production will use text, movement and music to bring one of Shakespeare’s most famous Love stories to life. A large ensemble of fifteen actors will bring the society and sexual power of the court of Venice and the destructiveness of a weak, war-torn Cyprus to the stage in what promises to be an explosive and epic production.

Othello marks the first production of Lazarus Season 2010 and a return to The Blue Elephant Theatre.

Playing from the 13th of April and opening on the 15th April Othello runs for a strictly limited run until the 15th May 2010. Othello plays Tue – Sat at 8pm and Tickets start from just £10!

Just a quick Happy New Year from all at Lazarus,
Season 2009 has been an incredible collection of work; our productions of Webster’s “The Duchess of Malfi”, Wilde’s “Salomé” and Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” have all received glowing reviews and in turn played sell out seasons. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in making this season Lazarus’ most successful one yet.
We even featured in this year’s round up in “The Stage”.
In this our third year we have been building strong links with theatres, practitioners and artists as well as the most important aspect of our work, our audience.
We are currently programming Lazarus season 2010, more details will be announced in the New Year, but we can let you know it will feature Elizabethan, Jacobean and Greek drama.
We look forward to seeing you in the New Year and inviting you to
LAZARUS SEASON 2010.

Ricky and All at Lazarus.
